welcome to our Brexit Breakfast Blog
Regular updates on BREXIT and the implications it has on your business' importing/exporting activities.
Who do you believe? Today Donald Tusk is giving the thumbs up to extending article 50. Yesterday he was all in favour of pushing Theresa back towards the ‘cliff edge’. While only last week some of us were allocated a special place in hell... But, at the same time as being doomed, we read in Lloyds Loading that ‘Euro-tunnel is ready for 29th March’ while ‘DFDS is ready for multiple Brexit scenarios’.
And… ‘EU Parliament adopts Brexit contingency measures for Transport’. It looks like reciprocal agreements are in place for road haulage licencing, airline connectivity and safety as well as agreements for railways. As long as the UK guarantees to uphold EU safety standards and legal measures most trade should keep running. Not only that, BREXITCENTRAL assure us ‘The Department of International Trade no deal planning is well advanced’ with significant numbers of roll-over WTO trade deals already well in hand and contracts all but signed. Does anyone know what’s really going on? It looks though it may all be brinkmanship. Maybe the best thing is to visit gov.uk/euexit If you dare. One thing is for sure. There’s going to be a lot more paperwork. If it is all very confusing and time consuming, our Britannia Bureau Brexit contingency planning service is still available to you just in case you are feeling like poor old Jean Claude. On Friday he complained of Brexit Fatigue. Fancy a beer?
